Spring Cleaning in your Garage
The spring season is a perfect time to clean up and declutter your garage. Not only will this make you want to use your garage more often, you’ll be able to locate items more easily. Here is a step by step process on spring cleaning your garage.
1) Take Everything Out
Most homeowners would agree that their garage is used as an overflow storage for various items. As such, you should start the spring cleaning process by taking everything out of the garage as to which you can organize into 3 separate files. You should create a pile of items you wish to keep, a pile of items that you can donate and a pile of items that you wish to discard. Once you have done this, you can inventory the items you plan to keep and throw/give away the items you do not want.
2) Deep Clean
Based on the fact that your garage is empty at this point, now is the ideal time for you to do a thorough cleaning job. You can start by sweeping the floor to remove dirt and debris, as well as to mop it after the fact. If you store your vehicle in the garage, it may have oil stains. 5) Purchase Storage Equipment And Organize Tools
When it comes to organizing your garage, consider the possibility of purchasing storage containers such as large plastic tubs. Storage containers like metal crates can help to keep your sports equipment organized. Toolboxes are critical when it comes to organizing your garage and are ideal for miscellaneous items such as screwdrivers and drills. Meanwhile, pegboards allow you to hang woodworking tools on the wall.
6) Pest Infestation
As the spring season approaches, more and more pests tend to look for new homes. Many homeowners experience a pest infestation as a result of the fact that they provided a nesting place for pests in their garage. Therefore, ensure that you don’t leave clothes and upholstery on the floor as well as paper or other soft materials.
